UTorrent works well in Windows 7. Check for a configuration problem, try the tab following and see if the torrents are actually connected to the followers. In the peers tab, check whether some of your colleagues online, if so, is there a peer who has 100% of the file. I'm using utorrent inwindows 7 for quite some time!

Try the the following things :
1. In uTorrent settings-> Connections, disable "Activate UPnP portmapping" and "Everytime Randomize port uTorrent starts". Select a port for incoming connections.
2. Go to Firewall-> Common Tasks-> My Port Sets-> Add-> New Game Port
3. Name uTorrent or something. Now right-click and select Add ... Select the port you've set uTorrent to listen on.
4. Go to Firewall-> Advanced-> Network Security Policy-> Application Rules and add the following rules for utorrent.exe:
5. Allow TCP or UDP IP
6. Allow TCP or UDP Out
4. Go to Firewall-> Advanced-> Network Security Polciy-> Global Rules and add this rule at the top. If you have a router, you must configure the port forwarding

Re: Utorrent not working on Windows 7
I think, Windows 7 is having compatibility issues with utorrent. The simple way to solve these uTorrent is running in compatibility mode. For doing this you need to right-click on the utorrent.exe file and selecting Properties from the menu. Go to Preferences> Advanced> Disk Cache and make sure that both Windows Disable caching disk writes and Disable Windows caching of disk reads are checked. This can help reduce I / S Lee and I / O writes, therefore solving the problem of hard drive speed and overload.
