xp sp3 firewall problems
Hi i just installed win xp sp3 and now all the programs i used won't allow incoming connections even if they are in the exceptions list. i didn't have this problem with sp2 and i am just wondering if anyone can help me. even if i disable the windows firewall i still can't get incoming connections. i called my isp and asked if they block ports to see if this might be causing the problem they said no. i don't have a router so i don't think there is anything to configure. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

You may have checked the firewall settings which you didn't find any issues. Try for Advanced firewall settings. Remove or look for the exceptions mentioned out there. Follow the steps:

1) Go to the start menu and click on control panel.
2) Open the Windows Firewall option on the window.
3) Click on the Advanced tab and check out for the settings.
4) Also look for the enabled or checked exceptions in the exception tab.
5) If the above things are quite proper then Click on restore default button on the general tab.

Which anti virus you are using because i am having the same problem. My anti virus was blocking the connection. So check the anti virus firewall setting for the same.
