The wifi network terminology
In wifi the same data can happen in several different paths to the receiving station with time lags. That is why the encoding sequence is used to avoid duplication of information. There are new technologies emerging in the same part. But is wifi safe to transmit important data. I think this will make more easy for hackers to capture the transmitted signal. I need some information on the terminology of wifi network.

Re: The wifi network terminology
This may seem obvious, but the frequencies are so large that the signal weakens rapidly as a function of distance between 2 devices. Beyond 30m, through a cinderblock wall, the signal losses are recurring and flows into freefall. The solution is to increase the signal strength. Before using technical terms to use a wireless network, let us first see what are the components used in wireless networking and definition. Modem it is a device used to connect to the Internet via the phone jack. Router lets you connect multiple computers together and using them to communicate. It can directly connect an ADSL modem if the router has this particular type of connection. NIC is a device for connecting a computer to the network: it can be in PCI for desktop or PCMCIA for laptops. Through Access point you can connect a device to a wireless network. So there are many options to keep your data safe.

It is less restrictive than a PCI card because it can be used on different PCs. It can be used to create an access point from a wired network: use look like a bridge between 2 different types of networks. Of course, you can have devices comprising 2 or more functions. There may be such as Wi-Fi modems that combine modem and access point or Wi-Fi router (router + access point) or even three: modem + router + access point.

The network architecture adoption depends on individual needs. It is strange to use wireless network in a single pc. Simply connect to the Internet. In some cases, the PC can be in a location away from the telephone jack, or the possibility of a wired connection is not good. This application requires an installation relatively consistent, since for a single machine, in addition to the modem, you'll need at least one access point (or router) and a network adapter. I go for a LAN network which is easy to configure and maintain.

Re: The wifi network terminology
The advantage of wifi network is that there no wire lying if I put the router next to the modem. Connecting one or more other PC is done very easily with only one network adapter or Wi-Fi access point. The disadvantage of the same is Significant cost to connect a single PC to the Internet. With multiple computers you can use a Wi-Fi for only 2 machines to communicate. For this, a special mode of connection, called Ad Hoc (option set in the drivers), can overcome any unnecessary hardware.

Wifi in a office or business network is very cost effective. There are not wires so you receives more stability. The only thing which creates issue is extending the network with constraints. The second option that comes to mind is sharing an Internet connection. The first solution is to use a PC as a "gateway" connection. It connects the first PC to a traditional modem, and the second computer accesses the network via Wi-Fi connection throughout the first PC. But it is Inexpensive & there is No wired connection.

Re: The wifi network terminology
One of the weaknesses of a Wi-Fi is its security. Indeed, where a wired network is difficult to pirate (at least to connect to the network physically), a wireless network can be heard all the time, because waves do not stop at the limit of your house. Anyone going near your home with a wireless network adapter will be able to use your network to connect to the Internet, see to hack your data. Currently, the WEP key coded on 64 or 128 bits allows limited security, but the key is fixed, it can be deduced easily by listening to the exchange of data, it is estimated that the key can be broken by intercepting 1GB of data. This may seem a large amount, but for an SME, it can go very fast.
